Who Can Request a Visitor?
- An older person looking for companionship
- A family member or friend seeking support for a loved one
- An aged care provider or organisation referring someone in your care
What Does a Volunteer Visitor Offer?
- Regular one-on-one visits (weekly or fortnightly)
- Friendly conversation and companionship
- Shared activities based on interests
- A consistent and familiar presence
How the Process Works:

Contact us via email, phone, or our online referral form. - Getting to Know You
We learn about interests, needs, and preferences. - Careful Matching
We match based on compatibility. - Ongoing Support
We provide ongoing check-ins and support.
Keeping Everyone Safe
All volunteers complete:
- National Police Check
- Working With Children Check (where required)
- Reference checks
- Training in safeguarding, boundaries, and confidentiality
About the Program (ACVVS)
JoCare delivers the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS), a national Australian
Government program supporting older people experiencing loneliness and isolation.
There is no cost to participate.
